Speyside On the other side of the hills from Glenlivet,
to the east, is Glenfiddich. The waters of the Dullan meet the river Fiddich,
then join the Spey. Thus the region of The Fiddich and the Dullan. This region
takes the single malt from the purist of Scotch Whisky drinkers to the everyday
drinker! Best characterized by the label Glenfiddich, it is one of the easier
single malts to be appreciated by the novice.

The Balvenie single malts, in their various forms, are sweeter than Glenfiddich,
with honeyish tones. They make natural after-dinner malts, and offer a further
gentle step in sophistication for the Genfiddich graduate.

Glenfiddich has become the world's biggest-selling single malt because it was
the first to be marketed with sufficient conviction. The fact that it is amiably
light and smooth in character, certainly makes this whisky appeal to a larger
and broader market. An excellent first single malt Scotch whisky for the novice.
